Lately, we’re all thinking a little more about our plastic use, our carbon footprint, and the kind of world we want to leave for our children. Why not reflect that in the Sims?
If you’re anything like me, building an eco-friendly home is way out of your wheelhouse. I’m far more likely to build sumptuous palaces so my Sims can live a life of ultra decadence. So how DO you make your Sim home look eco-friendly?
EXTERIOR: *Choose natural materials such as wood, glass, or stone. Warm brick works too. *Choose natural colors such as brown, green, white, and rich reds. *Include plenty of surrounding trees, plants, and vines for your landscaping. Your home should look symbiotic with nature. *The smaller the better: your home shouldn’t dominate the area around it. Instead, it should exist comfortably alongside it. *Keep the shape simple with modern, clean lines, avoiding frills. *Create water features with blue tiling, fountains, and tiles.
INTERIOR: *Again, use a color palette that resembles nature: browns, greens, whites. *Fill your home with plants!!! *Use furniture made of natural materials like wood, stone, and glass. *Make use of any “refurbished” furniture you have! *Use wood paneling, stone walls or floors. *Make a feature wall of exposed brick or stone by toggling the wall/room switch while putting up interior walls
