Early July brought a slew of impressive updates for the Sims Mobile: Knox strolled into Simsville touting his plans to transform an abandoned shipping container into a grand community maker’s space; Sims Mobile Game Changers gave the details for two new Wumples quests, a barrage of purchasable packs dropped, and players began a Sweet Treats Showdown which rewarded them with mid-century modern furniture, a bunkbed, and a retro record player. However, early July also brought a host of new problems for the game. The most prevalent and pressing problem is the infamous party glitch, swelled into new, more monstrous life with this update. Sims Mobile veterans are no stranger to party glitches. Late 2018 saw Sim parties glitch around level 10 and then boot all players in the party without granting fashion gem credits. The party would abruptly end, leaving the host with a party-less lot. In 2019, Sim partygoers saw their fellow Sims slowly disappear at parties. Thus, after a few minutes, only the host’s Sims were visible. Of course, this affected player sticker count, but Sims Mobile players are resilient bunch, and they soldiered on despite these issues. The newest party glitch is, to put it in the most literal of terns, game-breaking. Currently, when a player throws a Sim party, not only will the party crash and boot the players, but it will also crash the host’s game, rendering it impossible to log back into the game. Some Simmers, like user Lifeinapan, are unable to host parties at all. Parties are an essential Sims Mobile game mechanic. Through parties, Simmers earn fashion gems for Izzy, connect with their friends, explore Simmers’ homes, and show off their impeccable fashion sense. It is a feature which largely sets Sims Mobile apart from its PC and console counterpart: Sims 4, by introducing a social aspect. This social, “multiplayer” feature is what has created such a vibrant, tight-knit community, so this particular glitch has been the final gut-punch for many players. Annoyed, Simmers have chosen to skip parties all together or, in worst case scenarios, quit the game. Sunday, July 26th, user LifeinaPan inquired about this glitch with the gurus. SimGuruMegz responded with disheartening news: while developers are currently investigating the issue, there is no update on a fix at this time. Simmers can only hope that these investigations yield results soon. Party lists are dwindling, and the community grows increasingly restless.
Have you experienced the infamous party glitch, tell us your story below in the comments. As always, stay safe, wash your hands, and happy Simming.
