We asked Simmers... Do you use cheats?

Cheats.
.A keyboard sequence that gives a player an advantage in the game. Codes are initially used by developers and beta testers to test specific aspects and functions in a game and cheat codes are often left in the finished game product. While some find using cheats controversial, we asked 1,000 simmers like you, Do you use cheats in your game? Why or why not!? Here are the results!

The yes:
“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. If I wanted a mediocre life where I struggle with money, I’d just be living my own life.” - Jessica R.

“I use cheats because the sims is my escape and what I do to relax, unwind and be creative. I don’t want the stress of real life in my game. I have much more fun cheating money and moods, and sometimes using skill/degree cheats to make “pre-established” sims.” - Bayleigh

“It’s not cheating if the creators build it into the game. It’s a shortcut” - Kristin R.

“Motherlode BABY!” - Jenn A

“Sometimes 24 sim hours isn’t enough time to do everything and tend to their needs especially when it takes six hours to cook a meal and eat” - Cat K.

“ WILL cheat my toddlers' needs because they're very inconvenient for me” - Nyah F.

The no/ maybe:
“ I have different save files, I have 1 that I have never used a cheat except for bb.moveobjects. I don't consider that a 'cheat'.” - Brandy R.

“Build cheats I barely even consider cheats. I use those all the time. I also use needs cheats when I feel like it.

I never use money cheats though. If my sims need money, they need to earn it or take out a loan.” - Carla C. 

“I don’t use cheats with whatever household I’m playing other than build cheats and bug fixes (like reset sim) but do in the world like free real estate to give townies new houses and full edit mode to redress them” - Chloe K.

“I don’t use cheats if I’m doing a challenge” - Kat B.

The general consensus 
“Cheating” is essential to most simmers. Whether it's for building or catching up on bills, we rely on cheats to make our sim lives a bit easier. After all we are all here to escape the real world. I’m not going to lie, there have been times where I am 1 simoleon short on bills so a quick MOTHERLOAD really helps. Sometimes an accidental double tap and would you look at that, my sim can quit her job! Regardless of how we play there is no right or wrong. We welcome everyone, even you cheater cheaters, pumpkin eaters!!!
